Redwood House is a place as unique as the Bay Area

Situated on a tree studded hillside in Oakland, Redwood House has panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a quiet and restful place to set among the trees, yet it is only a few minutes drive to Oakland Vibrant shopping and historical areas.

A lush outdoor garden welcomes you to the peaceful and charming interior where you can explore the many rooms filled with authentic Victorian antiques and art work, relax on the deck, or enjoy the birds singing in the solarium. “Eclectic elegance” and “personable host” have been used by guests in describing this bed and breakfast. And the four course breakfasts served every morning have received praises.

Don Tyler has operated the Redwood House since November 1996
He has been a life-long collector of rare Victorian antiques. As an active member of the Oakland community for over 30 years, he has taught history at a local high school and volunteered with the Oakland Heritage Alliance as a preservationist, docent, and an Oakland tour guide. Don has a personable manner with people. And when speaking of his guests he can be heard to say, “All of my guests have been fabulous.”

Don is very knowledgeable of the San Francisco bay area and is always happy to provide suggestions for local explorations.
